5 Signs You’re Having a Spiritual Awakening (And What to Do Next)

Have you ever felt like the world around you suddenly shifted — like you’re seeing everything with new eyes? Maybe you’re questioning old beliefs, feeling more sensitive, or sensing a deeper connection to something greater.

If so, you might be experiencing a spiritual awakening (other names include expansion, healing journey…)— whatever you call it, its a powerful, beautiful (and sometimes confusing) process where your soul starts to remember who you truly are.

In this post, I’ll share five key signs you’re going through a spiritual awakening — and what you can do to support yourself along the way.

1. You Feel Disconnected From Old Ways of Living

What once felt normal — chasing success, constant busyness, old relationships — now feels heavy or meaningless. You may find yourself questioning:

  • “Why am I really here?”

  • “Is this the life I want to live?”

  • “What truly matters to me?”

This is natural. A spiritual awakening often begins when your soul nudges you to seek more authenticity, purpose, and depth.

What to do: Give yourself permission to outgrow old versions of yourself. Reflection, journaling, and energy healing can help you anchor into who you’re becoming.

2. Your Sensitivity and Intuition Are Heightened

You might notice you’re more sensitive to energy, emotions, or even other people’s moods. Your intuition — your inner knowing, is becoming stronger. You may experience:

  • Gut feelings you can’t ignore

  • Vivid dreams or visions

  • Synchronicities (like seeing repeated numbers or symbols)

What to do: Trust your intuition, which can take time so go easy with yourself. Meditation, working with your spirit guides, or practicing divination (like tarot or pendulums) can help you fine-tune these abilities.

3. You Crave Deeper Meaning and Connection

Surface-level conversations or material goals may no longer satisfy you. You might feel called toward:

  • Spiritual practices (like energy healing, meditation or working with ancestors)

  • Studying ancient wisdom or esoteric traditions

  • Finding your soul tribe — people who truly see and understand you, or a stonger need to find out more about your roots

What to do: Follow the threads of what lights you up. Join circles, classes, or online communities that nourish your spirit and feed this craving for information and connection.

4. You’re Experiencing Emotional Ups and Downs

Spiritual awakenings often stir the emotions — sometimes powerfully. You may experience:

  • Sudden waves of sadness or grief

  • Bursts of joy and wonder

  • A sense of deep release, almost like shedding layers of yourself

This is part of the process. You are clearing old patterns and conditioning to make room for your true self. Sometimes it can feel very powerful, dark and overwhleming.

What to do: Be gentle with yourself. Energy healing sessions, self-care rituals, and grounding practices (like nature walks) can help you stay steady.

5. You Feel Drawn Toward Spiritual Practices

Many people find themselves unexpectedly drawn to spiritual practices like:

  • Meditation and mindfulness

  • Energy healing

  • Working with crystals, spirit guides, or ancestral rituals

  • Learning about the cycles of nature and the unseen world

This isn’t random — your soul is guiding you back to ancient ways of remembering.

What to do: Explore what you’re drawn to with curiosity. There’s no right or wrong way to walk your path — just the way that feels true to you, and of course brings no harm to others.
